Travel to Puerto Rico Affordably

This whole trip happened by finding a roundtrip flight on American Airlines from Philadelphia to San Juan, Puerto Rico for $70! Whenever people ask me how to travel often and affordably my answer is always, be flexible and be patient.

Cheap flights —

I always say you can find cheap flights, you just need to be patient and have some flexibility for the time you are traveling. I occasionally browse Google Flights and found this nonstop trip for $70. May is a peak time to go to Puerto Rico, but a big reason I found the flight so cheap was that I bought the tickets in December for May of the next year. My biggest tip for traveling frequently is when you find a deal go for it! Especially now you can easily cancel if it turns out that you can’t go.

Accommodations —

We stayed at La Concha Renaissance Resort in Condado Beach and it was absolutely beautiful! Lots of pools, restaurants, and great service. Highly recommend spending a little bit more and getting an ocean view room, it was 110% worth it.

When you go to Puerto Rico you have to enjoy a good mojito and chips and guac! Seriously what we lived off of the few days we were there. Highly recommend the restaurant Serafina in Condado Beach, it was delicious and the vibes were 10/10.

Puerto Rico is super easy to travel to, no passport is needed and there are direct flights to San Juan from a lot of major cities in the US.

We really wanted this trip to be relaxing and didn’t want to fill the trip with too much (like I typically do on a trip) and I couldn’t be happier with it. It was super relaxing and we went to celebrate my long-time friend, Jillian, graduating college! It was the much-needed getaway we both needed.
